The Children’s Advocacy Center of Southeastern Indiana is a child-friendly nonprofit corporation created to minimize the trauma suffered by victims of child abuse.Children who are believed to witness a crime, be a victim of assault or abuse, or who are sexually abused come to a Child Advocacy Center (CAC). They arrive by referral from law enforcement, a prosecutor’s office, or a Department of Child Services caseworker.

Ireland Home Based Services provides comprehensive home and community based services to families and children in 40 counties in Southern Indiana. Southeastern Indinana Voices for Children serves local abused and neglected children through the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)/Guardian ad Litem (GAL) volunteer program. These volunteers are recruited and trained to advocate for the best interest of children both inside and outside of the courtroom. They work with attorneys, mental health professionals, and service providers to meet the needs of these children and help them find safe, permanent homes.

Youth Villages works with children and youth who have serious emotional, mental, and behavioral disorders, or have been the victim of physical, sexual, or substance abuse, or have had suicidal ideation or attempts. They serve children from birth to age 22, but the majority are between the ages of 12 and 17. Services include: Residenttial Treatment, Intensive In-Home Treatment, Transition Assistance Out of Foster Care, Foster Care & Adoption, and Specialized Crisis Services and Support.

Two common programs provided by the FSSA are Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) is a program that provides cash assistance and services to assist families with children under age 18. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), previously known as "food stamps," provides food assistance to low-income individuals. Other services include support for childcare, mental health services, and health coverage.

Ohio Valley Opportunities, Inc. (OVO) is a Community Action Agency. It has innovative programs to meet the needs of the elderly, disabled, and families with children and low-income individuals in our community. Programs include energy assistance, energy education, Head Start, La Casa Amiga, Section 8 housing, and weatherization. ​
Township Trustees - Financial assistance for low-income residents
Township trustees are charged to assist low-income residents with basic needs. Residents must apply for assistance and show that they are unable to provide those needs through personal effort.

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) provides a youth program of character development and values-based leadership training. BSA programs are divided by age and activity: Cub Scouting is for boys and girls in kindergarten through 5th grade, Scouts BSA is open to young men and young women in grades 6 through 12, and co-ed Venturing and Sea Scouting are available for young men and young women age 14 through 20. The BSA also offers career-oriented co-ed Exploring programs to youth age 10 through 20.

The Jefferson County Health Department provides basic level health care needs such as blood pressure measurements, blood sugar testing, and STI testing for free. It also provides immunizations for children and adults immunizations. Immunizations are free to clients who are uninsured or under-insured.

Jefferson County Transitional Services has three homes in Jefferson County, including two Ruth Haven homes in Madison and Hannah's Harbor in Hanover. This is a residential program for women in recovery from alcohol and/or substance abuse which houses women as they transition back into society. Residents will learn responsibility for maintaining personal sobriety and the necessary living skills which enable them to become increasingly independent.
