Free Parenting Workshop Coming to Jefferson County

All of us want to raise happy and healthy children. But being a parent or child's caregiver is tough, especially if you did not have a good example.

Join us as speakers from Self-Healing Communities of Greater Michiana and the ACEs Indiana Coalition provide a free, 1.5-hour session 

​

This event is open to anyone who cares for kids - parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, guardians, relatives, and non-relatives.

​

 In this session, we will:

  • Learn helpful parenting strategies to assist you and your kiddo to grow strong and resilient.

  • Receive fun, interactive books to share with your child.

  • Celebrate the beauty of parenting.

​

Registration is required as space is limited to 50 people.

The "Brain Care for Kids Activity Book: Introduction" presents basic brain science information to kids that will provide a helpful foundation for the rest of the books in the series. This book includes activities that help kids reflect on ways they care for themselves!

The "Brain Care for Kids Activity Book: Get Some Rest" introduces kids to our essential need for sleep! We dive into why sleep is necessary for our brains to work properly and different ways to build a happy bedtime routine. There are activities and reflection questions focused on rest.

"The Brain Care for Kids Activity Book: Listen to Your Body" helps kids understand why paying attention to the ways their bodies communicate with them is so important for the brain. There is space for reflection about where feelings are stored in the body and why taking deep breaths can help with regulating feelings.
